Put off the old self

Ephesians 4:20-24 Put off the old self with it's deceitful desires and focus on the truth which can be found in Jesus's life style and teachings.

What we don't want

Ephesians 4:19 We don't want a harden heart as it leads us to all kinds of impurity and greed.  Sin doesn't care about ourselves or those around us.  Beware!

Watch out for the hardening of the heart

Ephesians 4:17-18 Don’t let this world harden your heart. Stay focused on Jesus.

As each one does our own tasks

Ephesians 4:16 With Christ as the head let us trust Him to guide each one of us in the church to do our own work so we can grow together.

Speaking the truth in love

Ephesians 4:15 Let us speak the truth in love so we can grow into unity like a body where Christ is the head.

Growing up

Ephesians 4:14 A sign of immaturity is we're tossed about by different teachings.  Maturity says we're grounded in the truths of Jesus Christ and recognize deceiving teaching.  Lord Jesus, give us wisdom to know Your truths.

He gave us the people in the church

Ephesians 4:11-13 Have you ever thought of why God gave us the people in the church with all of their giftings?  It was to equip the church for works of service so the church may be built up until we all reach complete unity in the faith and knowledge of Jesus.  This takes maturing until we reach the fullness of Christ. Today I will consciously thank God for each person in the church and remember that God gave them for works of service so that we may be built up into complete unity.  Lord Jesus, please show the leaders how each person fits into Your church. Thanks

He came to us!

Ephesians 4:9-10 What a remarkable story.  Jesus left all the advantages of heaven and came to us in human form.  What a gift.  He learned what it was like to be human and showed us how to live as humans.  Then God raised Him up so that He can intercede on our behalf and left the Holy Spirit with us so we can be unified with the gifts here on earth.  Let's make Him proud of us.

God is a good God

Ephesians 4:7-8 As I read Ephesians 4:7-8 I see that God gives grace and gifts to His people.  Thank You Jesus.

Father make us one

Ephesians 4:4-6 Just as God the Father, God the son, and the Holy Spirit are one please make us one in the family and in the church. Forgive the ad in front of the song Father make us one

Walk the walk

Ephesians 4:1-3 Paul went to prison for his belief in Christ and from that prison cell he calls us to walk the walk.  Be gentle, humble, patient; bearing with each other in love and making every effort to be unified through the bond of peace.

Paul's prayer for the whole church

Ephesians 3:14-21 This is a prayer about faith and love.  The two married together to promote Jesus Christ.  May it be so.

Freedom in Christ

Ephesians 3:12-13 We have freedom in Christ even during the hard times. Lord Jesus thank You for allowing us freedom and thanks for Paul taking on the challenges to spread the good news.

That the Spirit world may know

Ephesians 3:9-11 Paul’s job is to let the Spirit world know the wisdom of God by incorporating the non Jewish people into His Kingdom. Lord Jesus May we live so that the Spirit world may know You reign supreme.

A servant by God's grace

Ephesians 3:7-8 Given what Paul use to do it is definitely a gift that he could minister to the Gentiles.  Praise God that he gave Paul the gift so that the gospel could get to us.

Acceptance; a beautiful mystery

Ephesians 3:4-6 For years Gentiles were not accepted as part of God's plan amongst the Jews then Paul discovered they were!  As we work through racial prejudices may we recognize that Jesus died for everyone.

Thank You Lord

Thank you Lord song

A prisoner and more

Ephesians 3:1-3 Did you know, the person writing Ephesians was once set on murdering Christians but God stopped him, turned him around and led him to the non Jewish population to tell them about Jesus.  This is how much God loves.

A purpose

Ephesians 2:21-22 Become the dwelling in which the Holy Spirit lives

We’re all part of God's household

Ephesians 2:19-20 Don’t be a stranger, remember we’re all part of God's household

Jesus taught peace

Ephesians 2:17-18 Not only did Jesus teach peace, he modelled it and we too can access this peace through the Holy Spirit. May God richly bless you with the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Christ made peace through the cross

Ephesians 2:14-16 Some times as humans we try to divide people; black and white, Jew and Gentile, rich and poor....but the truth is as Christians we all belong to one body.  The body of Christ.  Lord Jesus please show us our part in the body of Christ and help us to fulfill it well. Thanks

Gentiles now have access to God

Ephesians 2:11-13 If you are not a Jew you’re a gentitle and Christ has given us access to the Jewish God of Abraham (this means access to the Muslim God as well ,as their God is the God of Abraham as well). Fortunately Jesus modeled for us how to live as humans in this world.

Created to do good works

Ephesians 2:10 We are created to do good works. These good works are given to us to do by God. Ask God what you’re to do today and see God at work.

Grace not works

Ephesians 2:8-9 Remember we have nothing to boast about...it’s only by God's grace we are where we are.

God lifted us up

Ephesians 2:6-7 Have you ever felt down in the dumps?  Well I have good news, found in Ephesians 2:6-7...God lifted us up and sat us in the heavenly realm in order to show us His unbelievable forgiveness thanks to Jesus!

By God's grace

Ephesians 2:4-5 We have been saved by God's grace.  It was because of God's great love for us that He showed us compassion even in with our sins.  Thank You Jesus!

Who rules?

Ephesians 2:1-3 Did you know there is a spirit world out there?  It operates in interesting ways...satan can use apathy to control you or.... or he can use the occult.  But far above all rule and authority is the Spirit of God who can rule your life.  The question is who rules?  I'll go hide the box of chocolate now :-)

From death to life and power and authority

Ephesians 1:19-23 Jesus was killed; yes.  The proof is in the liquid that came out of him when they stabbed him in the side but He rose from the dead! God sat Him at His right side in the heavenly places, and put Him as head over everything, especially the church. What can God do in your life when you humble yourself before Him?
